Reusable HEPA filter SHEMAX

HEPA filter SHEMAX - reusable. Suitable for SHEMAX DUО PRO model dust collectors. Indispensable during manicure. Acrylic dust settles on the surface within 1 hour, and gel dust can stay in the air for more than 4 hours. That is, even if a manicurist works in a protective mask, he or she receives 56% of nail dust and pollen in the lungs every day, and the rest is “picked up” from the acrylic residue in his or her cup of coffee.

HEPA filter - fine cleaning 

The effectiveness of fine filters is determined in laboratory tests by the percentage of trapped microparticles. For such laboratory tests, an aerosol of a mixture of synthetic microparticles with a size of about 0.3 microns (0.1 to 0.5 microns) is used.  The most effective microparticles captured by HEPA filters SHEMAX are those from 0.1 to 1.0 microns. Larger particles have a negative impact on the performance of the filters, as they constantly dislodge the already trapped small particles. This leads to a significant decrease in the percentage of filtration efficiency. Also, large particles quickly clog the pores and air channels formed by the HEPA microfibers of the SHEMAX filter. This leads to an increase in the filter's resistance to airflow. Over time, a clogged HEPA filter severely impedes the air flow through the dust collector, causing the suction power of the dust collector to drop sharply and the motor to overheat. Therefore, dust particles larger than those for which the HEPA filter is designed (more than 1.0 microns) should not be allowed to enter the HEPA filter.

Advantages of the SHEMAX HEPA filter

The pleats of the SHEMAX filter are uniform over the entire surface, dust settles deep into the ribbed surface. The SHEMAX HEPA filter is protected by a plastic frame to avoid damage during cleaning. Under high pressure, the dust is pressed into the shape of the filter, forming lumps. When you pull the filter out of the SHEMAX range hood, the dust will not rise up because it is pressed and is buried deep in the ribbed filter. When you shake out the filter, you do not breathe dust.

Easy filter change

Even if you take great care of your SHEMAX HEPA filter, sooner or later it will need to be cleaned and replaced. Regular cleaning of the filter - we recommend after each working day - will ensure a longer service life. It is advisable to replace the filter every 2/3 months or more often, depending on usage and deterioration.

Warning: If the filter is wet, it deteriorates and reduces the hood's draft. Do not wet the filter!

How to change the filter in the SHEMAX dust collector

- Turn off the SHEMAX dust collector. Make sure it is disconnected from the power supply.

- Put on protective equipment - mask and gloves.

- Remove the upper part of the dust collector housing by unscrewing it and place it on a table nearby.

- Prepare wipes (preferably wet) in advance and unfold them on the table. Remove the filter from the bottom of the housing. Put it on the napkin with the dirty part. Shake out the dust on the napkin by gently pushing on the filter fins. Do not use water or other liquids to clean the filter. Only dry cleaning is allowed.

- Turn the cleaned filter over and insert it back into the bottom of the housing. 

- Replace the upper part of the housing and screw it in place. 

- Fold the cloth and dispose of it.

- Turn on the dust collector. Connect the device to an AC power outlet only. DO NOT leave the dust collector unattended with the power cord plugged into the wall outlet. Do not use any accessories other than those included in the scope of delivery.

- You can start working.
